WHO WE ARE

The Hospice Angelus Moldova Foundation is a non-political, charitable organization based in Republic of Moldova, which, since the year 2000, has been providing free services palliative care to people with incurable, progressive and advanced diseases with limited prognosis of life less than 12 months.

In 2017, we opened the first and so far the only Hospice for children in the Republic of Moldova, "Casa Angelus", located in the village of Isacova, Orhei district, where children with life-threatening diseases are hospitalized.

Vision

Our vision is that all children with incurable and advanced life-threatening diseases should be treated with respect and dignity until the very last moment, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion and social status.

Our mission

Our mission is to improve the quality of life of children with life-threatening, cancer or other incurable diseases through medical, social and psycho-emotional support.

Main services

Approximately 250 children benefit annually from our services.

Pediatric services, provided in the beds unit Pediatric Palliative Care (PC) Center "Angelus House";

  • Specialized medical care
     Includes treatments for symptoms and pain management, as well as monitoring of the child's health.
  • Occupational and physical therapy
     Activities and exercises to help children maintain or improve their physical and cognitive functions.
  • Respite services
     Provides families with a temporary respite from ongoing child’s care, allowing them to have a rest.
  • Organizing activities
     Organize recreational and educational activities for children.

Psycho-social support services

  • Psycho-emotional support
     Counseling for children and their families to cope with the emotional and psychological stress associated with the disease.
  • Spiritual and social support
     Assistance for the spiritual and social needs of children and their families, including support in managing social and financial problems.

Other activities

  • Organization and extension of hospice service in the Republic of Moldova
  • Application and promotion of the PC principles of hosp hospice according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization
  • Identification and recruitment of qualified personnel
  • Training healthcare professionals in the field of PC
  • Promoting charitable principles in society
  • Promoting a sense of civic and community responsibility
  • Raising funds for more productive activity
  • Organization of different informative events aimimg to rise awareness, documenting and updating information on PC in the Republic of Moldova
  • Organizing various charity events aimimg to collect funds, financial means and other goods necessary for better development of the Hospice- Angelus House activity.
